Four categories for this year’s Chase County Fair and Expo Open Photo Contest are Barns, Family, Humor and A Storm Is Coming. For this contest I try to have something for everyone to enter with. Should be a fun year of photos and can’t wait to see what will be entered.
Deadline for this years contest is Friday, Aug. 4, 2023 by 5:00 p.m. MST. This gives me time to set up the photos so the judges don’t know who the photos are taken by. A new way of how the photos are judged making it easier on the judges and puts a point system in place for the categories. Photos will be judged on the following Monday so the results can be entered into the Imperial Republican newspaper the week before the Chase County Fair starts. All photos will be on display during the week of this year’s Chase County Fair.
Each category will have a first place, second place, and third place. These all will receive cash prize money and then fourth place is honorable mentions only. There is also a Best Of Show prize winner as well.
NEW Rules for this year’s Open Photo Contest are: $20 per entry. This cost covers the entry fee, photo print for display at the fair and processing fees. No printed photos will be submitted, only digital photos entered to openphotocontest@gmail.com. I will then email you an invoice to be paid online.
SAME RULES: Must be 16 years or older. No limits on entries. Suitable for family viewing. Entires constitute permission for the Chase County Fair to use in publications. No entries accepted after the due date: Friday, August 4, 2023 at 5 p.m. MST. Cash prizes will be mailed to winners after the fair. No deliveries of photos will be made.
